For more than 20 years, Linde has supported the needs of laser users by working closely with laser OEMs and laser research facilities. The Linde LASERLINE™ program (a portfolio of gases, equipment and services) serves the unique needs of laser users.
Lasers transform an external form of energy (e.g., the electrical discharge or radiation of a flash lamp or a laser diode) into a beam of light of a single wavelength (monochromatic light). The active laser medium can be a gas enclosed in a cavity (e.g., CO2, TEA and Excimer lasers) or a solid crystal (e.g., fiber and Nd:YAG rod or disc lasers), deriving “gas lasers” and “solid-state lasers.”
This beam of monochromatic light can be focused to a very small spot size, to create extremely high energy densities – high enough to melt the metal of sublimate paper, wood, fabric, etc.
Lasers are used for laser cutting, laser welding, laser sintering and other processes, and Linde is the supplier of choice for related gases, equipment and services. Contact Us to discuss how Linde can optimize the quality of your output while reducing maintenance and operating costs.
