By arranging the freezer belt in a slowly upward rising spiral, a spiral freezer requiring only 150 ft2 of floor space can have a freezing and cooling capacity equivalent to a tunnel freezer 6 feet wide and up to 100 feet long. This makes the unit ideal for food processors requiring medium to high freezing and cooling capacity in facilities where the available floor space is limited.

Spiral freezers are available for operation with either liquid nitrogen (LIN) or liquid carbon dioxide (LIC) as the cryogenic refrigerant. Direction of rotation and loading and unloading positions can be selected to best suit the local conditions. |
