Murray Hill, New Jersey, U.S., March 4, 2010 – As residents of Haiti work to rebuild their lives after the devastating January earthquake, employees of Linde North America are helping in the effort.
Linde, a member of The Linde Group, one of the world’s leading gases and engineering companies, has contributed over $62,000 to the American Red Cross to provide food, shelter, clothing, medical attention and financial help to those affected by the earthquake.
"Linde and its employees continue to send our thoughts, prayers and assistance to the many victims of the earthquake," said Pat Murphy, president, Linde North America, Inc.
A web-based giving program enabled employees across the country to respond to the crisis and also allowed Linde to track total employee contributions, so it could match the total donation.
“Linde and its employees are very passionate about helping however we can to ease the suffering of the Haitian people,” Murphy said.
Christy Hodde, executive director of the Colonial Crossroads Chapter of America, said, “The response from Linde employees during this crisis has been tremendous. The Red Cross disaster relief operation will be a long-term effort and continued donations are critical in maintaining the flow of vital humanitarian aid.”
In addition to this donation made by Linde North America, The Linde Group donated EUR100,000 to aid organizations, including the German Red Cross and the German aid organization Welthungerhilfe
